to make a simple 500 grams sponge cake in a microwave add 1 cups(200gms)flour, 2eggs(100gms) 1/2 cup powdered sugar(100gms) 1 teaspoon baking powder butter 100gms vanilla essence 1/2 teaspoon milk (depending consistency) beat powdered sugar and butter until fluffy (the more you beat the more soft the cake will be)then slowly add the flour baking powder mix add the essence and finally add the eggs (after adding the eggs donot beat up again because eggs act like a molding agent and thus it shall lose its elasticity and the other thing you should be careful is always move your beater in the same direction ie, either clockwise or anticlockwise because air circulation place a great role in raising of the cake in the oven)after adding all the ingredients if the cake has a smooth flow your batter is in the right consistency if no make it into a smooth flowing batter by adding milk about half a cup. it is always better to coat a aluminum tray because aluminum catches heat fast at the same time cools fast leaving ends ready.coating a tray needs some butter and flour ,smear some butter in the tray and coat flour all over evenly then pour the smooth flowing batter into it.preheat the oven to 180 degree centigrade and bake it for 30 to 35 minutes. it always taste good and is very easy to make. all ingredients are always available in our kitchen it cheaper yet very tasty try it out do mail me if you liked it or contact me if you have any doubts i am always here to help you at any cooking matters bye happy cooking

i just made chicken chick pea curry... it took almost double the time then it does on the stove...mayb because it was my first time and i had no idea what to do! 1) electric fry i cooked the cubes of boneless chicken for a minute, and put to the side 2) in a microwavable container i place oinion, tomato, garlic and other spices with plenty of water to cover and boiled it,eventually water evoporated, but the ingerdients where not disloved. I put in the pick peas mashed some and left some whole AND THEN i added more water COOKED IT UNTIL THE WATER THICKEN and did this 4 more times. 3) i gave up and did not want to waste what i had produced so i placed baked potatoes, the chicken cubes,frozen vegi's and fresh corriander in this mixture and put plently of water so that the vegis r cooked through. IT TASTES OK A BIT BLAND HAD TO ADD LEMON JUICE AND MORE SALT SO I COULD SWALLOW IT DONE! LOL AND IT DOES NOT SMELL AS GOOD AS ON THE STOVE(SMELLS LIKE THOSE VEGI SOUPS YOU GET IN A CAN!!!!!) CAN U FIGURE OUT WHY AND WHAT I DID WRONG? LET ME KNOW CHEERS DARLINGS.... PLUS THIS IS MY 1ST AND LAST IM EVER GOING TO COOK IN THE MIRCOWAVE AS I WAS READING ABOVE... Try the fresh pea soup recipe in your microwave. Its really simple and tastes divine. Put a tablespoon of butter in a borosil dish for 30 seconds. Now add a chopped onion to it and microhigh for 2 min. the onion should become translucent and not brown. Add two cups of water with half teaspoon of salt and microhigh for about 5 minutes. Now add 3 cups of shelled peas to it and reduce the power and let it cook for about 10 minutes. Take the whole thing out. Upon cooling, put it in the blender and make a smooth paste. Add another teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of crushed blackpaper. Strain. Warm it again for a minute and serve with chopped coriander. You can add warm water to adjust the consistency. Enjoy the beautiful colour and truly out-of-the-world flavour.

Add the eggs and beat again-should be of a dropping consistency. If not, add a little milk and beat again. Pour into muffin moulds and bake in a pre-heated oven 20-25 minutes (a skewer or knife put in should come out clean).

Take a large microwave safe container (use the same thing you want to keep the yogurt in so you don't dirty 2 bowls) Put it in the m/w and set it long enough to bring milk to a boil. Then let milk cool enough to where you can (after washing hands) insert your finger comfortably for 10 sec. Then add 1-2 Tablespoons yogurt (depending on amt you're making) to the milk. Mix well -I use a hand beater -Cover it, and do not disturb it for 6-8 hours. Refrigerate and you have yogurt!

Broccoli fry - place the cut Broccoli(just the florets) in a porcelain cup, add 1 chopped tomato, add 1 cup water, redchilli powder, dhania powder, turmeric powder,salt and microwave it for 5 minutes.Then heat oil in a tawa, add jeera, and then the cooked broccoli and keep frying until all the water is evaporated.

ananya from delhi... whenever i reheat a samosa or a patty in mw it turns soggy instead of crispy. Any suggestions? My answer is this. Warm them using oven. Even bondas,vadas can be reheated in oven and that will keep them crispy. If the same is heated in microwave, it will become soggy.

Sorry friends...This recipie is better.I tried it. Crispy cauliflower- Cut cauliflower into small florets. Do not ignore the stem. cut them into small pieces too.Place them in a casserole and sprinkle some salt on it. Keep this in the oven for 15 minutes at 500 degree. Take two chillies and cut it into fine round pieces. Heat a Tawa, add olive oil,and then, add the chilies and ginger paste(add more say two teaspoons).If you desire, you can add garlic pieces to it. Sprinkle red chilli powder just very little and then add soy sauce and tomato sauce and keep frying. Again put this in a casserole and keep it in the oven at 300 for some 10 minutes. Place them in a plate and insert tooth picks on the florets and serve. Note: Soy sauce gives good color to cauliflower. Since we add tomato sauce rather than adding tomatoes, crispness is retained and time is also saved.

This is not a m/v recepie. I have been hunting many sites for crispy cauliflower fry. Finally a friend gave this idea. Cut cauliflower into small florets.Place them in a casserole.Sprinkle some salt on it. Keep it in the oven at 500 for just 5 minutes.The time may vary according to the crispness you need. Then, add olive oil in a Tawa, add the florets, red chilli powder and fry. Finally add Soya sauce and Tomato sauce. This way cauliflower will be crispy and Yummy.

Add the rest of the liquid. The batter should be a coating consistency (for thin crepes, thicker if you want thicker pancakes). Stir the batter, and in case you feel it has thickened add a little water. In a greased microwavable plate, pour some batter and cook at HI for 40-60 seconds. (You will have to adjust the time by making it a few times. Remember over cooking will make it tough.)

Donot ever try to boil an egg in it. I did it once and on taking it out, it burst on my face. I found the reason: the yolk being more saturated in fat heats earlier and pressure builds, as u take it out it cools rapidly and expands, cracking the shell and bursting out.
